I was such a fan of the old Cosmos PBS series, written and hosted by Carl Sagan (back in the 1980’s) that I purchased the companion book. One of the illustrations, ‘The Backbone of Night,’ by a brilliant artist featured the Milky Way galaxy resembling the bones of a spine. I’d share it here, but the artist doesn’t allow it (You can Google it). Anyway, this technically incorrect view of the night sky is montage of sorts with some of my favorite things: Moon reflection, stars, colorful sunset (or sunrise), stars and trees. The ‘pixelism’ works well here as time and space inherently take on a multidimensional quality.
