“12 x 36” Acrylic on Canvas with fabric wrap (bottom)
The subject wears shironuri (painted white) makeup, which is a type of Tokyo fashion that is the Japanese equivalent of western goth. The colors are reminiscent of the decora girls of the Harajuku district with an emphasis on a more traditional geisha look rather than the full ghostly effect. The fabrics of the obi (sash worn around the waist of a Japanese kimono) is tied with a golden rope into a musubi (decorative knot).
